ICND2 - Interconnecting Cisco Network Devices 2

Length Price Cisco Learning Credits
5 days $2,995.00 30

This hands-on Authorized Cisco course builds on the foundation provided by ICND1 (Interconnecting Cisco Network Devices 1), providing a technical foundation for the rest of the Authorized Cisco curriculum. Whether your goal is to familiarize yourself with Cisco technology or to become a Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert, ICND1 and ICND2 are the place to start.

This course not only delivers essential information needed to pass the CCNA certification exams, but it also includes comprehensive hands-on reinforcement to ensure that you add skills and not just knowledge. If you are new to Cisco, ICND2 prepares you for the tasks you will face on the job.

Prerequisites

  • ICND2 assumes a basic working knowledge of bridges and routers and a complete understanding of the OSI model, IP addressing, and IP subnetting. ICND1 is recommended and builds a strong foundation for this course.

What You'll Learn

  • Review how to configure and troubleshoot a switch and router in a small network environment
  • Expand the switched network from a small to medium network environment
  • Dangers of redundant switching
  • Spanning Tree
  • Concepts of VLANs and trunking
  • Implementing VLSM
  • Configure, verify, and troubleshoot OSPF
  • Configure, verify, and troubleshoot EIGRP
  • Determine when to use access control lists (ACLs)
  • Configure, verify, and troubleshoot ACLs
  • Configure NAT and PAT
  • IPv6 addressing
  • Configure PPP, CHAP, and PAP
  • Frame Relay operation
  • VPN solutions

Who Needs to Attend

  • ICND2 is designed for those who have a firm background in data networking, have some hands-on experience with Cisco routers and switches, and are looking to increase their knowledge of installation, maintaining, and troubleshooting medium-sized switched and routed networks or for those who are looking to achieve the first level of Cisco certification, the CCNA. We strongly recommend that other students start with ICND1.

New to networking and looking for CCNA Certification? The CCNA certification requirements are covered in two courses: ICND1 and ICND2. Certification is obtained by passing the ICND1 and the ICND2 tests or by passing a combined CCNA test 640-802.

Labs

Lab 1: Implementing a Small Network (Review Lab)

Using the skills that you acquired or learned in the ICND1 course, configure your workgroup switch and router with a basic configuration based on the network information provided.

Lab 2: Configuring Expanded Switch Networks

Expand the switch configuration to meet specific VLAN and network requirements.

Lab 3: Troubleshooting Switched Networks

Utilize troubleshooting methods discussed to gather symptoms, isolate problems, and correct the problems commonly found in a switched network.

Lab 4: Implementing OSPF

Configure your workgroup routers to use the dynamic routing protocol OSPF.

Lab 5: Troubleshooting OSPF

Utilize troubleshooting methods discussed to gather symptoms, isolate problems, and correct the problems commonly found when running the OSPF routing protocol.

Lab 6: Implementing EIGRP

Configure you workgroup routers to migrate from OSPF to EIGRP.

Lab 7: Troubleshooting EIGRP

Utilize troubleshooting methods discussed to gather symptoms, isolate problems, and correct the problems commonly found when running the EIGRP routing protocol.

Lab 8: Implementing and Troubleshooting Access Control Lists (ACLs)

Create and troubleshoot IP ACLs.

Lab 9: Configuring NAT and Port Address Translation (PAT)

Configure your workgroup router to use PAT.

Lab 10: Implementing IPv6

Allocate and configure IPv6 addresses on your workgroup routers.

Lab 11: Establishing a Frame Relay WAN

Using the serial interface, create a Frame Relay connection to the Core.

Lab 12: Troubleshooting Frame Relay WANs

Utilize troubleshooting methods discussed to gather symptoms, isolate problems, and correct the problems commonly found in a Frame Relay network.
